Dear Praying Brethren,
Greetings in Our Lord`s wonderful faithfulness! The prayers of God`s people and the desires of this missionary family concerning our furlough have been mercifully attended by the Lord. Besides His traveling mercies for the 10,000 miles driven, His grace to go in and out among 26 churches and His provision during these 13 weeks of travel He also kept those who “stayed by the stuff” in Brazil.
Please thank the Lord with us for these bountiful blessings. With the constant travel and wearing down of our natural defenses, the Lord has blessed with renewed strength and health. Through the emotional experience of Benjamin and Stephanie's wedding and having such a great distance between us and those of our family who are in Brazil, the Lord has given inner strength repeatedly. “He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?” (Romans 8:32). Of a truth this has been a reality in our lives each moment this furlough.
Next Monday we will, Lord willing, return to Brazil. This remaining week has its challenges of packing, saying many “good byes” and tying up many loose ends. We seek your prayers for continued grace and wisdom for each need. We know the Lord's promises are not weak concerning His care, but we also know He is pleased for us to pray according to His will. Therefore we seek your prayers for His promised care.
Thanking you for your vital part in all that we do we close this letter hoping our next one is from Brazil.
In our Lord, Bro. Calvin Gardner and family
