Dear Praying Friends,

We are in regular contact with brethren in Chile and Mexico. In Chile, small earthquakes continue as a frequent occurrence, several per week, and sometimes several per day. These are minor and common, in comparison to the big one that occurred last February. After that one, 67,000 jobs were lost due to the destruction. Good news for Andres is that after losing his job near the end of May, with due diligence in praying and job hunting, the Lord gave him a new job after about one month. The Lord blessed that as a learning experience for him and Fabiola.

Eduardo is doing well in Cardenas. He happily reports a new person attending on a regular basis. Please continue to pray for the brethren there, and the need of a full-time pastor. Brethren from 2 sister churches continue to travel and preach for them.

You heard in the news about Hurricane Alex which came through a few weeks ago, and then disappeared from the news. The flooding from that has been disastrous, for many in south Texas, and for very many in northern Mexico. The Rio Grande river is at peak flood stage right now. It has taken that long for the major impact to hit. The Falcon and Amistad Reservoirs are at their highest levels ever, and the water being released is causing major flooding. In places the river is 40 feet above normal, and over a mile wide in places. McAllen has been protected by the flood canal and levees, but several small towns have been hard hit. Nuevo Progreso, where our dear brother Tomas Olvera is pastor, has been spared the flooding, but they are surrounded on all sides, and all Mexican roads into town but one have been cut off (plus the international bridge is still open). The last highway is about to be closed for at least one month, and the other roads will not be opened for at least 6 months. The only supply line for food into the town will be across the international bridge. He asks us to pray about what to do regarding his daughter's schooling. She may lose a year, since there are no high schools in town, and she must drive every day, which now is not possible.

We just returned from several weeks on the road. I was able to visit 6 of the Lord's churches during that time. We are back again at home in McAllen taking care of affairs here. But we will be back out again soon. I am planning to visit each of our supporting churches before we leave for Chile. If you have not received a call yet, you have not been forgotten. Please keep praying that we can get all things wrapped up here soon, and be on our way! Also please remember to pray especially for Janet's health.

Thank you for your faithful prayers and support!

Bro. Danny Roten
