Dear Brethren,

Please forgive the lateness of this report. I would like to request prayer for my husband who is recovering from a heart attack. He had two stents put in his heart Thursday, Feb. 4th and was sent home the next day. The following Monday he had a repeat of the same symptoms and spent 3 more days in the hospital. Test were done, but the only thing that could be determined was that he had a reaction to the blood pressure medicine that had been prescribed, not for high BP but to make his heart stronger. He no longer takes it and seems to be doing well. He's taking it easy, doing a little more each day. Your prayers for his speedy recovery would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
Roxanne Parrow

December 2009 Report

Dear Pastor and Brethren:
Preaching In Romans
As I have been reporting for the last few months, I have been preaching in English to an average of ten to twelve men each Sunday afternoon in the jail ministry at the Payne County Jail here in Stillwater. The Lord has blessed with the salvation of one inmate who has been released and I believe gone back to his home state. However, I continue to preach solid, edifying, and thought provoking messages to the other inmates. It is the Book of Romans that lays the basis and calls forth such messages. The results of justification are laid forth in Romans five. Reckoning self to be dead unto sin is clearly taught in Romans six. The conflict between the old and new natures is presented in Romans seven. These teachings are just what the believing men in the jail need. Many of them have made some kind of profession of faith but know nothing about following the Lord and serving Him. They know nothing about what these chapters in Romans teach. I have an avid audience. They listen to the message. Some of them write down things I say and mark the verses in their Bibles that I emphasize. Occasionally, they have honest questions related to what I am preaching. Once in awhile, they make a good comment in line with something I am preaching. They answer or at least try to answer the questions with which I query them. All these reactions point to the fact that they are listening and that the Holy Spirit of God is working in their lives. Frequently I preach for forty-five minutes or more and then answer questions for another forty-five minutes or until we have to leave. Brethren, I believe that your prayers for this particular part of our ministry are being used of the Lord to bless not only in my life but in the lives of these men.
List of Names
I am going to list the first names of these men so that you can present them to the Lord by name in prayer. Mike is a believer and is a leader among them in holding Bibles studies and prayer. (They say that they pray for me every day!) Then there is Sylvester, Mark, Robert, Ed, Steve, Adrian, Tim, and Reuben. Dustin, Eric, and Jaime have left. Jaime is a young man from Guatemala who heard the gospel for the first time. The English speaking group would wait for me to talk to him in Spanish each Sunday and then I would preach to the English speaking group. If and when Spanish speaking men are in the pod with the English speaking men I will address the Spanish speaking men first. The above names do not include the men that go into the pod with me. I preach to them also because they are Arminian in their religious experience but will not list their names. Brethren, I would be greatly pleased if the Lord would bring some of these men into church relationship with us through scriptural baptism so please make all this a matter of earnest prayer.

By His grace and in gratitude,

Tim & Roxanne Parrow
