December 2011 Report

Dear Pastor and Brethren:

Difficult Month!

The uncertainty of life greatly demonstrated itself when quite suddenly and without any expectation the wife of one of our district court judges died. She was working in her garden and told the gardener that she was tired and was going to lie down on the sofa and rest. She went into the house and didn’t come out again. The gardener went in to check on her and found her without life lying on the sofa. I tell you this because I often work with this judge with respect to the Latino men in the court system.

November 2011 Report
Dear Pastor and Brethren:

Feedback from Prisoners

Recently, someone asked me if I ever hear anything back from the prisoners with whom I have worked spiritually, that is, to whom I have preached the gospel of Jesus Christ and given Christian literature to read. The answer is, yes, a few occasionally.

Dear Pastor and Brethren:
Two Professions of Faith!
On Sunday afternoon at 3 p.m. after entering the jail, we were approached by two young men in the jail intake area wanting to talk about spiritual matters. They had been processed for jail life, had on their orange jumpsuits, and were waiting to be escorted to their respective pods. The jailers told us that the two men desired to talk to us and so that gave us the opportunity to share the gospel with each of them.

Dear Pastor and Brethren:
Update on the Jail Ministry
It was June when I last wrote about the jail ministry, and I was preaching to eight Mexican men in the “H” pod service and about eighteen English speaking men in the “F” pod service. (Read the rest of report in the .pdf file by clicking on the attachment below.)

July 2011 Report

Dear Pastor and Brethren:
Serious Drought Conditions
Although I dedicate these reports almost completely to declaring what the Lord is doing spiritually in the souls of men here in the Stillwater area, I cannot keep from commenting on what the Lord is doing here to His natural world because it is so unusual. June 2011 Report

Dear Pastor and Brethren:
Spanish Jail Population Increasing
As we approach and enter the summer season I see two things developing here in the Stillwater area. First, the jail population of Latinos has increased from two inmates to six and at the time of this writing we now have eight Mexican men to whom I preached yesterday. May 2011 Report
Dear Pastor and Brethren:

God’s Word Is Still at Work!
I have been preaching to the Chester family now for several months, first from the book of Genesis and now from the book of John. I first dealt with very basic spiritual concepts such as sin, sinners, and their need for salvation. The Chesters assured me that they had repented and that God had done a work of grace in their hearts years ago with regard to the eternal matter of their salvation.

April 2011 Report
Dear Pastor and Brethren:
An Unusual Profession of Faith
I met Louis when he was in “F” pod at the Payne County jail and because he was deaf and mute he asked me for a copy of my sermon outline to read. As I was preaching from the book of Genesis, I was happy to give him a copy. I heard nothing more from him for awhile and then I noticed that he had been moved to “H” pod where I preach in Spanish. Dear Pastor and Brethren:
Some Good News!
The Lord has finally begun to reveal some of the fruit of my spiritual labors to us and I’d like to share that news with you. Do you remember Jose Luis de la Cruz Guzman who made a profession of faith while in jail in 2009? He contacted me by email last month and thanked me for helping him while he was in jail. He continues to send me emails and has expressed interest in finding a church in the Mexico City area where he lives.

February 2011 Report

Dear Pastor and Brethren:

Opportunities to Serve the Lord
February proved itself to be a difficult month with respect to the weather. Bethel Baptist Church, Bro. Dean Robinson, Pastor, had their yearly Mission Conference planned and had invited me to work with the music for the day services.
