April 2008 Report

Dear Pastor and Brethren:

April Showers

Literally and spiritually we have had many showers this month. Space limitations prevents telling all except a few of the more important things that happened. The jail ministry among Latinos is growing with five or six Latinos in jail besides Jose Luis. Depending on the reaction time of I.C.E, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, to come and begin the deportation process, I am visiting and giving away Spanish Bibles and tracts to these people, challenging them with their need for a spiritual relationship with God through repentance from sin and saving faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. When women are incarcerated, Roxanne works with them. Mostly our time with these people is highly limited because of jail rules. Nevertheless, the majority of the Latino inmates express their gratitude for our short visit with them. Additionally, I accompanied a Mexican man to the dentist twice, and Roxanne went with several Mexican ladies to the doctor, one, of which she talked to about the Lord, named Argelia. Another special blessing was to translate a message of Bro. Jack Duplechain to a Mexican lady named Joana. Bro. Paul Brown, Pastor of Sherwood Baptist Church in OKC, invited me to translate for Joana who was visiting the special services the church was hosting with Bro. Duplechain preaching. It was a wonderful opportunity for Sherwood Baptist Church and for us to be able to reach Joana with the gospel in this manner.

Health Insurance Problem

As the Lord has always provided for our health needs through His churches, we seldom speak of our personal problems to you all. However, the State of Oklahoma Insurance Commissioner has issued a cease and desist order against our health care sharing ministry Christian Care Medishare. CCM must stop helping its members on May 31st, this year. Roxanne and I have both developed health needs that we have just begun to address through CCM that could involve operations at sometime in the near future. As we will no longer be covered, we need your prayers for wisdom as to what to do about this need. If any of you brethren have knowledge of affordable insurance coverage that would benefit us, please give me a call.

By His Grace with Thanksgiving,

Tim & Roxanne Parrow

Dear Pastor and Brethren:

Update on Jose Luis

I continue to visit Jose Luis de la Cruz Guzman on Sunday afternoons in the county jail. The last time I mentioned him he was reading in the book of Deuteronomy. Now he is beginning the book of Ezra. Usually each Sunday, I ask Jose where he is reading and then proceed to do a Bible study with him from a pertinent part of that biblical area where he is reading. Such an approach makes his Bible reading come alive and personal to him because I apply the read portion to his life and touch on doctrine included in the read portion. Easter Sunday, however, was an exception. I took my text from Job 19:23-27, but before we read it, I asked him if the concept of the resurrection, a New Testament act and fact, had any basis, foundation, support, or background in the Old Testament. You see, I have been trying to demonstrate to Jose Luis that the New Testament can be best understood only by a proper understanding of the Old Testament; that the Old Testament is the foundation and key to the New Testament. Well, Jose Luis, just didn't know, so away we went to the Job passage mentioned above, and there it was, Job's testimony to the power and presence of the eternal living Redeemer and his prophecy of his own resurrection, which is of course, because of the resurrection of Christ. We then went to the New Testament and read the Matthew 28 account of the resurrection of Christ. I showed him that not only is the resurrection of Christ symbolical and systemic to our individual salvation through repentance from sin and faith in Christ, but it is symbolical of and systemic to our subsequent sanctification, future glorification, the rapture of true believers, the personal, bodily reign of Christ upon the earth, and the coming new heaven and earth. All these are New Testament acts and facts based on Old testament truth. I tell you that in that old dark, uncomfortable, and dreary jail, the Holy Spirit of God through the Word of God blessed us with spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ. We rejoiced together, sang "Up from the Grave He Arose," together, and closed in prayer together. I left the jail with tears of joy in my eyes because I also know that my Redeemer liveth and will keep His Word! Please remember Jose Luis in prayer.

Other Contacts

Two other names of Latinos contacted this month that you may remember in prayer are Rodrigo Estrada and Abelardo Fernandez, both to whom I gave good literature.

February 2008 Report

Dear Pastor and Brethren:

Call from Tenerife!

This month we were thrilled to receive an hour and fifteen minute call from Bro. Jose Manuel Garcia, the pastor of the Independent New Testament Christian Baptist Church of Tenerife. We hadn't heard from them for a long time neither by e-mail nor by letter nor by phone. Bro. Garcia is the pastor of the church the Lord established through us throughout a ten year period on the island of Tenerife of the Canary Islands. The church is doing well but has gone through a trial of their faith due to an American missionary couple that went to Tenerife for the purpose of starting a church. This missionary couple said that they wanted to work through the brethren there but went around preaching in Pentecostal churches on the island. The ecumenical nature of this American missionary couple was not revealed, however, until Bro. Garcia and the church celebrated the Lord's Supper. As this American couple had never joined the church, Bro. Garcia asked them not to partake of the Supper with them since the church believes in closed communion. The American couple got angry and said that they would not return to the services. This, of course, hurt everyone because this American couple had made friends with them all. Friendship, however, is not the basis of fellowship, but sound doctrine is. Once again we see the importance of the proper practice of the divine ordinances given to the local church in right relationship with the Lord. What a blessing it was to me to see this church and her pastor walking in the purity of the truth and the faith once delivered to the saints! Bro. Garcia requested prayer that the Lord might see fit to perpetuate the church there by adding some young men by salvation and scriptural baptism and by calling one of them to preach the gospel so that he might train him like I trained Bro. Garcia in the work of the ministry. Brethren, please pray for the Independent New Testament Christian Baptist Church and their pastor, Bro. Garcia!

Conference at Bethel

In addition to our regular activities, I was invited to direct the music for the Missions Conference of Bethel Baptist Church of Lawton, Ok., Bro. Dean Robinson, pastor. It was a delightful time of spiritual refreshment for Roxanne and me. The preaching challenged our hearts, the food and fellowship were good, and we returned home encouraged in the Lord!

January 2008 Report

Dear Pastor and Brethren:

Assessing the Latino Ministry

Over the last year, 2007, the Lord has given us many opportunities to meet and share the gospel of God's saving grace with many Latinos. They stay interested in us and allow us to minister the gospel to them for awhile. However, as we continue to talk to them about the things of the Lord they begin to withdraw from us and from having a continuing relationship with us. Thus we are constantly going through a process of meeting new people working with them for a while and then seeing them withdraw from us because of the gospel. Some, however, continue to be friendly toward us, and it is with them that we continue to have an influence upon for the Lord's honor and glory.

The ministry within the county prison has seemed to produce a little fruit for the glory of the Lord. The Latino prisoners are few in number compared to the English speaking prisoners. They are forced to live in an American prison culture, eat American foods, live somewhat isolated from the other American prisoners, and experience a loneliness and boredom that is mentally, physically, and emotionally destructive. Under those conditions is where I come in to minister to them in Spanish and give them gospel literature to read that points them to the Savior and salvation. Often I am the only one that cares enough to visit them, speak to them in their own language and show interest in them. I want them to understand that their only hope is the Lord Jesus Christ. Three, perhaps four, young men have professed to have repented from sin and come to Christ for salvation this year. Two of the four have been deported to Mexico. The third has been released because he is legally here, but has disappeared, perhaps moved to another town, and not been seen again. The fourth is still in jail and will have a jury trial in the months ahead.

Renewing the Labor

Brethren, this is not an easy ministry. It is not very rewarding or glorious. I could speak, if I had space, of all the hindrances. You are familiar with them all anyway and have experienced similar ones yourselves. We are thankful for what fruit the Lord has given. We are thankful for your support of this ministry. We, by His grace, will continue to labor until He comes. Even so come quickly, even today, Lord Jesus! Brethren, pray for us.

December 2007 Report

Dear Pastor and Brethren:

Another Profession of Faith

The third Sunday of this month during the Sunday afternoon session of ministering to Latinos in the county jail, another young man, Juan Manuel Quintana, asked me if I would lead him to the Lord. I had given Juan Manuel gospel literature back in October when I first met him and have been dealing with him since about his sin against God, impending judgment, and his need of a personal relationship with the Lord through repentance of sin and saving faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Juan Manuel was incarcerated with drug charges against him and by his reactions to my attempts to minister the gospel to him I thought that I was not getting the message of salvation through to him. However, it seems that the Holy Spirit was getting through to Him whether I could recognize it or not and it was the Holy Spirit that prompted him to seek the Lord in repentance and faith for salvation. Brethren, to say the least, I am moved and humbled spiritually by this simple declaration of repentance and faith on the part of this young man. Now the Lord has put two young men's souls into my care for further instruction and encouragement in the Word of God under extreme circumstances perhaps for a limited time period. I feel the need for divine wisdom to instruct them in the most succinct manner for their spiritual growth and the Lord's honor and glory in their lives. Please pray for Juan Manuel and Jose Luis de la Cruz Guzman and myself in these spiritual labors. Jose Luis has memorized two Scripture verses and is now finishing up the reading of the book of Deuteronomy.

Note of Additional Gratitude!

I want to thank each of you that have remembered my birthday and sent special cards of encouragement to me. Also, we appreciate the extra love offerings for the needs of the mission work that have come in at this time of the year. We appreciate the opportunity to preach the New Year's Eve Service of Sherwood Baptist Church, Bro. Paul Brown, Pastor. We are deeply grateful for your friendship in the Gospel and for your support of this the Lord's work here in Stillwater. I hope that you are rejoicing in what the Lord is doing in the hearts and lives of Juan Manuel and Jose Luis even as I am. May you have a blessed 2008 and may the Lord be praised!

November 2007 Report

Dear Pastor and Brethren:

Profession of Faith

Of all the young men that I mentioned in October's report, Jose Luis de la Cruz Guzman has responded to the ministry of the Word and prayer by telling me that he has repented of his sin and put saving faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. This young man has been under the ministry of the Word for several months but not until lately has he seen his need of salvation from sin and a relationship with the Lord. I introduced him to the gospel back in June. He, being just 21 years old, listened but shrugged off the message and invitation of the gospel. At that time under court pressure to fulfill his legal requirements for a misdemeanor, he felt that he could reform himself and not have any more problems. Now he is back in jail with a severe felony charge and has wept bitterly several times for his pride, self-reliance, and sin against God. On Sunday afternoon November 11, he told me he had repented of his sin and trusted in the Lord Jesus for salvation. He has read the New Testament from the Gospel of John through Revelation and has begun reading the Old Testament. He is working on a Bible study, and I am giving him resumes of each of the books of the Bible each Sunday. Furthermore, he has a good voice and readily catches on to the melodies of the hymns that I sing to him. He tells me that he sings them during the week. Brethren, Jose Luis has serious trouble with the law of our criminal system and could suffer the penalty of the law for years. Apart from the regenerative work of the Holy Spirit and the cleansing and saving work of the Lord Jesus Christ, we all have serious trouble with the holy law of God as righteous Judge and would suffer the penalty of His law for eternity. Think of it - and if God has worked a work of grace in your heart and life giving you repentance from sin and saving faith in the Lord Jesus, what a wave of gratitude should sweep over you for His mercy and grace. It has swept over me, brethren, for I am a sinner saved by God's grace! Please pray with us for Jose Luis and his growth spiritually in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Photo Update

Some have asked for a recent photo, so please find enclosed an updated version of us on a card with pertinent data for the refreshing of your memory and for your prayers. If you don't recognize us, just attribute it to experience, not old age!(We are in the process of getting this picture for the internet. October 2007 Report

Dear Pastor and Brethren:

Preaching in Colorado

Bro. Justin Fulton and Victory Baptist Church of Loveland, Colorado, invited me to preach to them on Sunday, Oct. 7. The Rocky Mountains were beautiful, but the warm response to the preaching of God's Word was even more delightful in this day and age of spiritual decline. The meeting place was full for all the services; the music was of the old hymns of the faith brightly played and strongly voiced; all were attentive to the messages, and the Holy Spirit of the Lord moved hearts by His Word! We returned to Stillwater truly encouraged by the brethren of Victory Baptist Church. Pray with us that the Lord might continue to bless them as they follow and serve Him in these spiritually difficult days!

Immigration Law

The first of November a new immigration law is to go into effect here in the state of Oklahoma. We don't know how it is going to effect Latinos and our ministry. Nevertheless, we continue to interact with them for the purpose of preaching the gospel to them. Pablo Miranda, Israel Bermudez, Jose Manuel Gonzalez, Jose Luis de la Cruz Guzman, Leonardo Gutierrez, Blas Rosas Santiago, Juan Manuel Quintana, and Jose Yoni Flores Santos are all men with whom I have had the opportunity to share the gospel on a personal basis this month. Though all are in need of prayer for salvation, those who have responded most to my efforts are Israel Bermudez, Jose Luis de la Cruz Guzman, and Leonardo Gutierrez. I have given Bibles to them, showing them to begin reading the Gospel of John, and copies of "Ultimate Questions," a sermon by John Blanchard that deals with the basic need of the human soul for a saving relationship with the Lord.

Auto Tire and Copier Fund Update

Thanks to all who have given to supply our recent automotive needs! We have our new tires and also a new timing belt and drive belts that we had to have installed on the Toyota Rav. Calvary B. C., Salyersville, Ky., Bro. Harry Helton, Pastor, has given $100.00; Sovereign Grace B. C., Amarillo, Tx., Bro. Ron Pollan, Pastor, sent $100.00; Bro. Ken Calia, Pastor, and Bohon Road B. C., sent $400.00; our home church, Calvary Ind. B. C., Bro. K. David Oldfield, Pastor, sent $300.00. Total given: $900.0; total spent: $817.61, tires - 492.93 plus timing belt and belts - $324.68; total remaining - $82.39 which we will use for copier needs.

September 2007 Report

Dear Pastor and Brethren:

  Family Visitors

We were pleased to have with us in our services on Sept. 9th, Mr. and Mrs. Jackson Diehl, my sister and her husband all the way from Honeybrook, Pa. For the morning service I preached on "John the Baptist, Forerunner of Jesus Christ," and for the evening service in Spanish I preached on "Lazarus, the Man Who Was Raised from the Dead." It was a blessing to have my sister and her husband with us as well as Alicia, Jose, and Enrique.

  Preaching in Arkansas

On Sept. 16, I preached by invitation of Bro. Anthony Johnson at Unity Missionary Baptist Church in Paron, Ar. The church building is on the edge of the Ouachita National Forrest, and Bro. and Sis. Johnson live way out in the forest surrounded by beautiful trees, deer, and other wild life. I enjoyed preaching in both the morning and evening services with visitors present at both services. We do appreciate the good fellowship that we had with Bro. and Sis. Johnson and the opportunity to preach the Gospel to Unity Missionary Baptist Church. Please pray for them as they seek the Lord's will for a pastor.

  Santa in Jail

On the 13th of Sept., I was called by the court to interpret for Santa Rendon, Fabian's girlfriend, who was arrested for presenting false identification to a police officer and taken to jail. Santa and Fabian have come to our services and heard the gospel many times. We have warned them about breaking the law all to no avail. It grieves our hearts to see them suffer the penalty of the law. Santa is still in jail and is to be deported sometime in the near future.

Auto Tire and Copier Fund Update

To date, Calvary Baptist Church, Salyersville, Ky., Bro. Harry Helton, Pastor, has promised $100.00 for our new tire fund, and Sovereign Grace Baptist Church, Amarillo, Tx., Bro. Ron Pollan, Pastor has sent another $100.00 giving us a total of $200.00 toward the new tires. Thank you, brethren, for that help! We still need $297.27 for the tire fund. As of yet, no church has communicated with us about helping with the purchase of a new copier for $299.00. Most of the rubber coating has fallen off the band that moves the print head across the paper leaving just the strings. We need a copier to be able to produce our monthly report.

August 2007 Report

Dear Pastor and Brethren:

  Joel Reyes Deported

On August 29th, Bro. Joel Reyes was suddenly deported to Mexico. He had pled guilty to drug trafficking on the advice of his lawyer and was given a ten year suspended sentence with credit for time served in the jail. He was deported because his legal resident alien status had expired while he was in jail, and he has the felony conviction. He thought it better to get out of jail by pleading guilty than to stay in jail by pleading not guilty and have a trial by jury. I got to talk to him for just ten minutes before he was deported. Brethren, I did my best as unto the Lord and under the circumstances to teach this man sound doctrine. We had hoped to see the Lord use him to help us in the work here in Stillwater, but that does not seem to be the case. We pray that the Lord might be able to use him wherever he goes for they would not tell me where they took him and he has not called me since he was deported. May the Lord's will be done.

  Other Contacts

Roxanne helped with the birth of Mariela's baby, Diana, and I had the opportunity to talk to her sister Marisol at length about spiritual things because of the time spent with them in the hospital. Roxanne had the opportunity to talk to Yolanda and answer many questions she had about spiritual matters when she took Yolanda to the doctor for a checkup. Roxanne also helped Marco and Monica with the birth of their new baby who suffered complications and had to be heliported to the hospital in Tulsa. Still others we were an influence upon are Gustavo and Berta, Hugo and Alejandra, Francisco and Karen, Hilda and her daughter, Daisy. All of these are young couples to whom we are witnessing and who need the salvation of the Lord. Please pray for them.

  Copier and Tire Fund

We received a nice call from Bro. and Sis. Harry Helton, Calvary Baptist Church, Salyersville, Ky., telling us they were sending $100.00 toward the new tires we need for the Toyota Rav leaving only $397.27 left to meet that need. Thanks Calvary Baptist Church! In addition, please don't forget our need for a new copier ($299.00) so we can produce our monthly report for our supporting churches. Our old copier is just about gone.

July 2007 Report

Dear Pastor and Brethren:

  Sherwood Baptist Conference

The very first week of July was busy with our involvement in the Sherwood Baptist Church Bible Conference, Bro. Paul Brown, Pastor. This year I was asked to be the pianist for the morning services, to provide special music for the evening Fourth of July service, and to give a report on the Lord's work in Stillwater. The Lord enabled me to write a special patriotic hymn for the Fourth of July service entitled, "Oh, America!" and my son Nathan and I sang it together. The conference theme was, "The Person and Work of the Holy Spirit." The messages were very instructive and the conference was a blessing to Roxanne and me. We are thankful to the Lord and Sherwood Baptist Church for the opportunity to attend and participate in their excellent conference each year.

  Special Material Needs!

Not very often do I mention financial needs, but some pressing expenditures have piled up on us and perhaps the Lord would lay it on some of your hearts to help us meet these needs. The tires on the Toyota RAV that the Lord's churches bought for us in January of 2001 are worn out. We have checked into buying another set of the same kind of tires we put on the car when we first bought it, the B. F. Goodrich Long Trail. They have served us well for almost seven years, even though we travel on gravel roads constantly. They cost $497.27 plus mounting and taxes for the four of them. Another need I must mention is for a new photocopier. The little personal color copier model HP 170 I bought more than ten years ago is finally wearing out. We use it frequently in the mission work and especially for doing our monthly prayer and financial report. Of course all the copiers are now all-in-one machines and the one that seems to fit our needs is $299.99.

  Special Prayer Request!

Please remember Bro. Joel Reyes in prayer. He has been in the county jail now for 14 months without sentencing and has a special hearing before Judge Murphy on August 13th at 10 AM. He knows that God is in control of his life and whatever the outcome of the motion to suppress evidence against him may be, he is resting in God's will for him. I will be translating for him at that hearing, Lord willing, and covet your prayers for that as well.

June 2007 Report

Dear Pastor and Brethren:

  Showers and Thunderstorms!

Almost unbelievable but true, we have had twenty-eight days of rain and the road to our house has been covered with water between four and six feet deep on two separate occasions. My neighbor and I pulled one Jeep Grand Cherokee out of the water with a ruined motor because it had sucked water into the intake through the air filter on the top of the motor. Not even the road grader would go through the first time the road was covered. During this period of heavy rains, we were able to get out our road to the north to go to town and do our work, thank the Lord!

I had the opportunity to deal with Jose Luis de la Cruz Guzman at length about sin and his need of salvation. He seemed unmoved at the time, but hopefully the Lord will use His Word and our message to open His understanding. Additionally, we had Baltazar and Esmeralda in two services in which we dealt with them about the problem of sin and the gravity of it in their lives. Please continue to pray with us for this young couple and their need for salvation. They keep coming back to hear more of the gospel!

Finally, the Lord has answered prayer affirmatively with respect to Bro. Joel Reyes becoming a trustee in the county jail! When I went in to see him on the last Sunday of the month, he was out of his cell in the hall of the jail and greeted me personally with a warm handshake and a smile! He has been put in charge of cooking for about thirty to forty prisoners and sheriff's deputies and is delighted to have something to do. He formerly was a cook for Applebee's and other restaurants and knows how to cook. We are delighted for him and now we can sit across from one another and talk, sing, and pray together in a more comfortable manner! You see, the Lord is concerned about even the little things and prayers have been answered positively that have improved his situation. At his last court appearance, Joel had a new lawyer. A new hearing has been set for August 13th at 10 AM for a motion to suppress the evidence against him because the police made an illegal search of the van he was driving. If that motion fails, Joel will have to have a trial by jury the last week in September. The ADA is asking for life imprisonment now, so please be in prayer for Bro. Reyes.

Although the above activities are the major events we are reporting, we have had opportunities to be with many other Mexican people and be an influence upon them. Brethren, we have a tremendous mission field right here at home with many foreigners at our fingertips to reach with the gospel. Are you doing your part?

By His grace and gratitude,
Tim & Roxanne Parrow

May 2007 Report

Dear Pastor and Church:

May Blessings!

Two new names for which we request prayer are Jose Luis de la Cruz Guzman and Jose Manuel Gonzales. Both young men of about 21 years work for two different construction companies and are single, although Jose Luis has a young son who was born out of wedlock to his American girlfriend. I have given both men gospel literature and have had the opportunity to talk to Jose Luis at different times trying to lay the groundwork for a more in-depth talk about spiritual matters. Above all, we need your prayers that the Lord might open the hearts and minds of these young men and many others like them that they might read the gospel literature I give them, that they might be stirred by the Holy Spirit of God to repent of their sin and believe the gospel, and be saved by God's grace. What a joy that would be!

Joel Reyes Update

I told you last month of the low spiritual condition of Bro. Joel Reyes here in the county jail, and I want to thank you for your prayers for him. He apparently accepted my letter of rebuke with the right spirit, and he has returned to a much better position and frame of mind with respect to his relation with the Lord and with me. We are continuing the Spanish Bible studies and English lessons, and are familiarizing him with Spanish hymns. His lawyer has been able to get a special court session for him on June 27th at 3 PM. Pray that the Lord will accomplish His will for Joel's life by means of a fair court ruling on his behalf. He has been in the jail 13 months now and has read every book in Spanish related to spiritual things that I have given him. I have to remove staples from any booklets with staples binding them together and can only visit and talk to him for an extended period of time by bending over and talking to him through the approximately three inch by twelve inch rectangular opening in the steel door of his cell. He sits on the floor and looks up through the hole at me, and I bend over while sitting on a stool to talk to him. It is very uncomfortable for both of us, but it is the best we can do according to the authorities. Other times would be limited to ten or fifteen minutes but in this manner I get to spend up to two hours with him. Brethren, pray for us!

Tim & Roxanne Parrow

April 2007 Report

Dear Pastor and Church:

Update on Joel Reyes

I have been working consistently with Joel Reyes over the past eleven months mainly on Sunday afternoons by visiting him in the local county jail and taking him Bible studies, godly literature, hymns, and occasionally writing him letters and making phone calls for him. However, he is still incarcerated and his lawyer seems to be doing very little but to ask for continuances each month for his case. Thus he is going through a period of depression in spite of all I try to do to encourage him. In fact, he wrote me a letter and asked me not to visit him one Sunday in April because he said he was confused and needed time to think some things through. Sometimes he thinks that the authorities are guilty of racial prejudice, at other times he thinks they are pressuring him to make a deal with them to become an informer, although he tells me he knows nothing about drug trafficking. He says that if he were a drug gang member it would have already paid his $50,000.00 bond and gotten him released. Another source of confusion for him comes from the shallow, charismatic, and conflicting religious ideas that bombard him. His cell mates are "religious" and are holding Bible studies three times a week in the cell. They listen to the television evangelists whose doctrine greatly differs from the historic, biblical doctrine that I constantly present him. He had adopted the idea that God should do a miracle for him to help him get out of jail; that God should send him a sign to assure him that he would get out. He began to think of God as being his "good luck charm," not unlike the "Virgin of Guadalupe," of Roman Catholic superstitution. Gently but firmly I wrote to him a letter of rebuke quoting the Apostle Paul's rebuke to the Galatians in chapter one concerning embracing "another gospel." I asked him to return to the place where he was spiritually after coming to know the Lord several months ago. Brethren, Joel needs our prayers. Please remember him before the Lord.

Bible Conference

The last week of April we were blessed to be part of the Bible Conference of Grace Baptist Church, Bro. Roger Dohrer, Pastor, Claremore, Ok., directing the music for the conference in their beautiful new building with a new sound system and piano. It was an excellent conference not only because of the preaching but because of the hospitality as well!

Roxanne went to the doctor with Maria and translated for Francisco with an attorney. On 3/20, we went to Claremore at the invitation of Grace B. C. to help them pick out a new piano, and supervised the community service of Luis. On the 22nd, I worked with Luis Vargas all day, and Roxanne took Reyna to the doctor. March 26th, we returned from preaching in Coweta and supervised Luis again and met with his family that afternoon. March 27th, we translated for Francisco for his insurance company, and on the 28th, went with Mariela and Jose Luis to Oklahoma City to help her get ultrasound pictures for their baby. On March 30th, I went to court with Joel Reyes, and on the 31st, we had a Bible study with Baltazar Torres and Esmeralda in our home after serving them supper. In all this, we give out gospel literature and witness to these people. Pray for us and this ministry, that the Lord might save souls and raise up a New Testament Church!

February 2007 Report

Dear Pastor and Church:

Thawing Out!

This has been one of the worst winters we have had with record snows and ice. We thank the Lord that we have not suffered any real damage to our home or property. Now however things look like they are beginning to warm up a little, and spring is just around the corner. In the midst of it all the Lord has blessed with several opportunities to testify of His saving grace and pass out good literature. The Lord gave me the opportunity to thoroughly impart the gospel to Baltazar Torres over a three hour session with him. I believe that the Holy Spirit touched his heart with conviction for sin, because he asked me what he needed to do about it. I told him he needed to repent from his sin and ask God to give him faith to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation. He said that he wanted to talk to his girlfriend first and have her read the literature I had read to him (he does not read much). We are going to keep in touch so please continue to pray for Esmeralda and Baltazar. We have also met another young couple, Rafael and Argelia and their six year old son, Rafa. We gave them literature to read and had a good conversation with them. Another man, Juan Robles, has read the literature I gave him and said that he was going to read it again. He lives in Tulsa, so I don?t get to see him often. Fabian and Santa also came back to our services because they seem to be offended by some of the things happening in the SBC Latino church. Roxanne continues to help three pregnant Mexican women and has given literature to all of them with good interest by one of them desiring more literature. I still go to the jail on Sunday afternoons to visit with Joel Reyes who is presently studying English and the doctrine of the Holy Spirit in Spanish. Please keep all these people in prayer that the Lord might work a work of saving grace in their lives.

Mission Conference Blessings

We were truly blessed this year by the Bethel Baptist Mission Conference in Lawton, Ok., Bro. Dean Robinson, Pastor. The preaching was excellent as well as the food, music, and fellowship. We enjoyed renewing old friendships, creating new ones, and hearing of the blessings of the Lord on His people. Please pray for the Lord's blessings upon Bethel Baptist Church and Bro. Robinson.

January 2007 Report

Dear Pastor and Church:

A New Year!

The new year started off with a rush. Roxanne and I flew to Philadelphia to assist my elder sister with her wedding the first week of the month. While there, I talked with a pastor who has the only church, a small one, in a very large and populous area that continues to use the King James Version of the Bible. He recently took the pastorate of that church which is being morally undermined by members living together outside of holy matrimony. He said that such living arrangements are not uncommon in his area of ministry. He is afraid to attempt to correct the matter because if he does he might lose two important families and their money. Brethren, spiritual and therefore moral conditions are fast degenerating in our land. Come quickly, Lord Jesus! I am happy to report that my sister and her new husband were married correctly in the Lord, both having previously lost their spouses. Praise the Lord that there are some who still magnify the Lord in their lives and do things in obedience to His Word!

Snow Bound!

After returning the Lord sent much needed precipitation to us in the form of an ice storm. It rained about four inches of ice that was like walking on BB's until it all froze together so hard that I could have skated on it. For several days we could not get out of our driveway where I got stuck because it was so slippery. The Lord was good to us because about seventy miles east of us it rained raindrops which froze to everything on contact and caused great destruction. Slowly we are recovering. Remnants of it are still lying about to remind us of the unusual weather. Such weather, of course, limits our movement among the Latinos of our community, but now we are beginning to get back into the rhythm of our work among them. Of the names I mentioned last month, please remember especially in prayer Baltazar Torres. He works for the local dairy and lives with a Mexican woman, Esmeralda, down in Perkins, Ok., a rural village south of Stillwater about ten miles. He was born up in the Chicago area but his Mexican parents moved back to Mexico shortly after he was born. Although he is an American citizen about 35 years old, he has only lived in the USA about eight years. He speaks a little English but not enough to talk in English to us. He has asked me to visit him, and by God's grace, we will!
