WelcomeMeet Brent Spears and his family! We hope you will enjoy learning about all of the wonderful things that the Lord is doing here in the Philippines. Read about their goals and burden to carry out the Great Commision. The MissionWe came here to the Philippine Islands in 1995. The Lord providentially directed us here to the city of Marikina. In November of 2000. The Lord was pleased to allow us to organized Providence Baptist Mission into a Local New Testament Baptist Church, under the authority of Bryan Station. Bro. Ronald Nepomuceno was also ordained into the Gospel Ministry at this time. Since the organization/ordination, they have been an indiginous, autonomous work. Presently we have been working in the Romblon province. This province consist of 9 small islands and is situated south of Manila. In the more remote aeas of these islands some of the children have never seen a white person. It is my heart's desire to proclaim the Glory of the True God to these people. Oh, beloved the majority of these people are extremely religious, but they don't know the God of the Bible! Bro. A. W. Pink describes our mission field perfectly in the following statement: "The God of this twentieth century no more resembles the supreme Sovereign of Holy Writ than does the dim flickering of a candle the glory of the midday sun. The 'god' who is now talked about in the average pulpit, spoken of in the ordinary Sunday School, mentioned in much of the religious literature of the day, and preached in most of the so-called Bible Conferences is the figment of human imagination, an invention of maudlin sentimentalilty. The heathen oustside the pale of Christendom form 'gods' out of wood and stone, while the millions of heathen inside Christendom manufacture a 'god' out of their own carnal mind. In reality, they are but atheists, for there is no other possible alternative between an absolute Supreme God, and no God at all. A God whose will is resisted, whose designs are frustrated, whose purpose is checkmated, possesses no title to Deity, and so far from being a fit object of worship, merits nought but contemp." Tenatively my plan is to travel to one island per day, spend the day on hut to hut visitation and then hold a service there before returning back to the main island of Romblon, Romblon which will serve as our home base. At times I feel overwhelmed at just the thought of all the ground work that must be laid in order to make such a mission work possible. But our God is worthy, He is also able to do exceedingly above all that we ask or think. GOD'S GLORY IS OUR PASSION DECLARING HIS GLORY IS OUR MISSION.
